  The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Ltd (SPDC) is mobilising to repair the Nembe Creek Trunkline (NCTL) after crude theft leaks forced it to be shut down on 24th of December last year.

• Update on SNEPCo response to Bonga oil leak: Journalists to visit area today

  Lagos, Nigeria, December 26, 2011 – A group of international and Nigerian journalists will today fly to an area off the coast of Nigeria to see for themselves how the oil that leaked from SNEPCo’s Bonga facility has largely dispersed. This follows an overflight by Nigeria’s Minister for the Environment and the Director General of NOSDRA on Saturday 24 December.

  SNEPCo this evening confirmed the oil leak from the Bonga facility off the coast of Nigeria has largely dispersed.

• Bonga Update: Oil on the surface continues to decline as Government officials visit site

  SNEPCo continues to apply dispersants and has begun skimming operations to further reduce remnants of the oil leak.

• Update on SNEPCo response to Bonga oil leak: dispersants impactful; oil continues to thin & break up

  SNEPCo confirms the oil leaked from the Bonga facility continues to thin as a result of the effective use of dispersants by seaborne vessels and aircraft.
