30/08/2010 SPDC Joint Venture Replaces Major Pipeline
The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) joint venture is close to completing the construction of a major $1.1-billion oil pipeline in the Niger Delta as part of the ongoing programme to keep its facilities well maintained. The new 97-kilometre Nembe Creek Trunkline will have a capacity to transport 600,000 barrels per day from 14 flowstations in the Niger Delta to the Bonny export terminal in Rivers State. With half of the line so far commissioned, it is taking the place of an existing pipeline scheduled for replacement.
16/08/2010 SPDC, FHI Extend HIV/AIDS Intervention Programme in Niger Delta
The Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) of Nigeria Ltd. operated Joint Venture and Family Health International (FHI) have signed an agreement to extend their highly-successful Niger Delta AIDS Response Programme (NiDAR) to 10 more hospitals. NiDAR is already being implemented in five hospitals, and the extension means more people can get comprehensive HIV/AIDS care, treatment and support services at a total 15 SPDC-supported hospitals in Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, Rivers and Abia states.

27/07/2010 SPDC Joint Venture Renews Commitment to Effective Healthcare in the Niger Delta
The 27 hospitals directly supported by The Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) operated-Joint Venture in the Niger Delta attended to more than 116,413 patients in the first half of this year, and recorded over 672 safe deliveries of babies. The hospitals are part of a total of 35 built and upgraded by SPDC, and sited in Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa, Abia, Akwa Ibom and Edo states.
