A new Managing Director for Shell Petroleum Development Company, Mr. Osagie Okunbor, has assumed office succeeding Mr. Mutiu Sunmonu who retired on Saturday after 36 years of service. Osagie’s appointment had been announced in January while he was serving as a Senior Advisor in Shell’s Upstream International Operated business in The Hague, Netherlands.
The Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo) has restated its commitment to the implementation of the SNEPCO-operated Bonga South West/Aparo (BSWA) project, denying recent reports that it has stopped the development due to the slump in oil price.
Training of doctors has been made much easier at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, thanks to the provision of an ultra-modern audio-visual studio by Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Ltd (SNEPCo). The studio will be used to record lectures and helps to provide a more learning friendly platform, making it easier for students to access information around the world.

He is Osagie Okunbor, and takes over from Mutiu Sunmonu who is retiring after 36 years of service. Mr. Okunbor has also been named the Country Chair of Shell Companies in Nigeria, combining the two positions as his predecessor did. Mr. Okunbor is the third Nigerian to hold both posts.
The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), has today announced a £55 million settlement agreement with the Bodo community in respect of the two highly regrettable operational spills in the area in 2008.
