NNPC/Shell Cup 2011 - Captain of the winning team, Government Secondary School, Owerri lifting the trophy
The 14th edition of the NNPC/Shell Cup football competition for All Nigeria Secondary Schools kicked off on December 8, 2011 with a press conference at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos. The Championship has become one of Nigeria’s leading age-grade football tournaments and a fixture in the country’s educational and sports calendar. The Competition is scheduled to hold as follows:

Zone H: Katsina, Katsina
Zone I: Gombe, Gombe
Quarter-finals in 4 states
13th and 14th March, 2012.
Centre One: Ilorin, Kwara State
Centre Two: Akure, Ondo State
Centre Three: Kano, Kano State
Centre Four: Lagos, Lagos State
Semi-finals and Finals in 1 state
23rd and 25th March, 2012
The 2012 competition will feature over 100,000 students playing a total of 66 matches in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory and there will be prizes for the fourt top schools to emerge from the competition.
Interested secondary schools in Nigeria are advised to pick up registration forms from the respective State Ministries of Education nationwide.
