Shell Business Structure in Nigeria
Shell Companies in Nigeria produce oil and gas from land and swamps in the Niger Delta and from deep-water reserves some 120 kilometres off the coast. They also operate Nigeria’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant, which exports all over the world. Shell has a 25.6 per cent shareholding in Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) and is also its technical adviser. Its partners in this company are Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) (49 per cent), Total (15 per cent) and Agip (10.4 per cent).
Gas and Power
Shell Nigeria Gas has been in the forefront of efforts to monetise Nigerias abundant gas resources. Its mission is to provide manufacturing and service industries with a clean, reliable, low-cost alternative to liquid fuel and to assist in building a stronger economy.
Liquified Natural Gas
Convinced that export is the most credible way of extracting economic value and the most efficient means of large-scale utilisation of Nigeria's abundant gas reserves, Shell Nigeria has been very active in the Liquefied Natural Gas project since its inception in the mid 1960s.
