Gumusut-Kakap

The Gumusut-Kakap field is Shell’s first deep-water opportunity in Malaysia and lies offshore in waters up to 1,220 metres deep. The field is being developed using 19 subsea wells, with oil exported via a pipeline to an oil and gas terminal in Kimanis, Sabah.

Given the size and scope of the project, our engineers and Petrophysicists have had the challenge of developing safe and efficient methods of extraction. Fields like Gumusut-Kakap require excellent Petrophysicists who wish to develop an impactful career in one of the world’s leading energy companies.
