Shell Nigeria Gas Ltd (SNG)

SNG currently operates a gas transmission and distribution network of approximately 115km. It operates several systems including Agbara-Ota in Ogun state (which has a supply capacity of 42million standard cubic feet per day) supplying industrial customers in industrial parks at Agbara and Ota (Ogun State). The Aba Cluster distribution system supplies natural gas to industrial customers around Aba city, Abia State, and Port Harcourt Cluster in Rivers State.

Over the years, SNG has built a reputation as the most reliable gas distribution company in Nigeria.

Ed Ubong

SNG Leadership

Ed Ubong is Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG) and is responsible for leading the company and safely delivering its domestic gas growth aspirations. He joined Shell in 2001 after completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the Federal University of Technology of Owerri and completing the Shell intensive Training Program (SITP) run by Robert Gordon University Aberdeen.

Ed has worked in various roles spanning Systems Engineering, IT Audit, Strategy and Portfolio Planning, Deal Delivery and Asset Commercial. In 2013, Ed worked as Senior Business Adviser to the Shell Nigeria Country Chair and MD of SPDC. Most recently while working in the Deepwater team he led the industry negotiations on Deepwater associated gas terms.

Ed has lived & studied in Europe, North America and Asia. He holds a Masters Degree in Engineering from the University of Southampton, UK and an MBA from INSEAD.

Ed is married to Agatha and they have two children. He enjoys Football, Polo, Chess, Teaching and Motor racing.
